A successful settling of bees in a garden or balcony requieres just a few cocoons. The amount of cocoons depends on the size of the nesting sites, the size of the garden and furthermore the number of available trees and flowers.

The red mason bee approaches many different flowers and every crop plant in the garden. It is not necessary to place the nesting sites for the red mason bee in southern direction.
