With partially colored motif. Issuing country: Germany 2023

The federal government has decided to mint a 5-euro collector's coin “Rusty Red Mason Bee” and issue it from September 7, 2023. The coin is the fourth edition as part of the “Wonder World of Insects” series, in which a total of nine coins with partially colored motifs will be released between 2022 and 2024. The series focuses on a special group of animals that makes up a significant part of our natural heritage, also against the background of current developments (insect extinction).

The 5 euro collector's coin “Rusty Red Mason Bee” is made of a copper-nickel alloy. It has a mass of 9.68 g, a diameter of 27.25 mm and is produced in two embossing qualities: uncirculated and mirror finish. The coins in mint quality uncirculated are brought into circulation at their face value (5 euros). The coins in collector's quality mirror finish are issued by the German Mint at a selling price above the face value.

The value side, which is used for all coins in the series, shows an eagle, the lettering “FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY”, the value number and value designation, the year 2023, the twelve European stars and the mint mark “D” of the Munich State Mint.

The smooth edge of the coin contains the inscription in recessed embossing: “WONDERWORLD INSECTS ·
